Hand-painted patch

If you’re attention-to-detail challenged, this is a great alternative to the stencil patch post I wrote a couple weeks ago. Making a handpainted patch is really simple and takes under 30 minutes. Put on some tunes and collect your things!

  • a paintbrush
  • a white pencil crayon
  • old jeans or shorts material
  • paint

STEP ONE: Cut out a piece of material from some old jeans or shorts scraps. Then using your white pencil crayon, write or draw what you want to paint. I find this step helpful in making sure that everything will fit onto the patch.

STEP TWO: Take off the paint lid and paint your patch.

STEP THREE: Let the paint dry for 30 minutes, then sew it onto something!

My patch is inspired by the antifascist Dead Kennedy’s song from 1981. Tell me what patches you’ve made in the comments!

Tell me what you think!
